Worried about confidentiality? Please see our Confidentiality statement below:

Confidentiality statement

We provide a confidential service to all our clients.  This means that you can tell anyone about your visit, but we won't.  Even if you are under 16 nothing will be said to anyone - including parents, other family members, care workers, teachers or anyone who does not work within the clinic.

The only reason we might have to consider passing on confidential information without your permission, would be to protect you or someone else from serious harm. If this were our concern then we would always try to discuss this with you first.  If you have any worries about confidentiality, please ask a member of staff.

Personal information

Your personal information will be kept secure and confidential. We will ask for your consent if we wish to share your information more widely. You have the right to refuse.
Very occasionally we may need to override confidentiality and the need for your consent, for example, to prevent serious harm to others. For more information contact PALS, the Patient Advice and Liaison Service, (see below).

Consent to treatment

You will always be asked to consent before your treatment starts.

Interpreting, translation and support

We have an interpreter service offering a range of languages, including British Sign Language. We can arrange for information to be translated or made available in other formats. It helps if we know in advance if you need this. If you need additional help to access our service, please let us know.

Complaints

You may talk with the person concerned directly about any complaints you have or discuss it with their manager. If you would like your complaint to be dealt with formally, or you would like support in making a complaint, you can obtain further information from PALS (see below).

PALS

The Patient Advice and Liaison Service is free and confidential. It offers advice and information about any aspect of your healthcare services. PALS can be contacted on 0116 2256647 (local rate).
