Sexual health facts...

  • Condoms are the only way to protect yourself from catching sexually transmitted infections and are 98% effective if used properly.
  • Chlamydia is the most common sexually transmitted infection. Approximately one in every ten young people who have had sex before have got Chlamydia.
  • STI's are also passed on by oral sex and foreplay too and you only need to do something once to catch a sexually transmitted infection or become pregnant.
  • If you have started having sex you should get a sexual health screen every time you change your partner or at least every year if you are in a long term, serious relationship.
